Step by step guidelines to enroll in Intune 

Step –1 Prepare Your Device 

Connect the device to the internet 

Sign in by using your work account linked to Microsoft Entra ID 

Step – 2 Open Enrollment Settings 

Go to Settings on your device and click Accounts from left side

Scroll down on the Accounts window and under Account settings click Access work or school option

Now, under Access work or school option click Connect

After clicking Connect button you see the following screen

On this screen enter your work credential (email) then click Next. On next screen enter your password and then MFA, if applicable. 

Step 3 Enroll in Intune  

Select Join this device to Microsoft Entra ID 

Follow the prompts to complete the enrollment 


Post-enrollment Flow

1. Sign In with Work Account

   - Enter Microsoft Entra ID (work email) when prompted

   - Initiates device registration or join to Entra ID

2. Device Registration or Join

   - BYOD: Device is registered to Entra ID

   - Corporate-owned: Device is joined to Entra ID domain

3. Automatic Enrollment into Intune

   - MDM user scope triggers auto-enrollment

   - Intune MDM certificate is installed

4. Company Portal App (Optional but Recommended)

   - User installs and signs into Company Portal

   - Enables app access and compliance visibility

5. Compliance & Configuration Profiles Apply

   - Device receives:

     • Compliance policies (e.g., PIN, encryption)

     • Configuration profiles (e.g., Wi-Fi, VPN)

     • App deployments (if assigned)

6. Device Appears in Intune Admin Center

   - Status: Enrolled / Compliant / Non-compliant

   - Visible under Devices > All Devices
